Turmeric also known as the Queen of Spices has been used since ages to add taste and color to food. It  can be used as a spice and also as a cosmetic. This wonder herb contains a wide range of anti inflammatory, antifungal, antioxidant, anti-nutagenic, antiviral, anti-carcinogenic and antibacterial properties. Mix turmeric powder with lemon or cucumber juice, apply on the skin and leave for about 15 minutes. Wash off with normal water. Do this daily after which a significant change is seen in skin color making it fairer and brighter.

This golden spice can be mixed with regular face masks to make skin as beautiful as ever.  On the planet, it is arguably one very powerful spice to treat dark spots, discoloration and pigmentation of skin. It works wonders on skin, lightens skin and removes scars and blackheads. To make a face mask at home, mix honey, lemon juice and organic turmeric in equal amounts and apply on the face. Leave it for about 15 minutes and wash off with warm water. After rinsing the face rub in a few drops of Argon oil into the skin and get a healthy glow.

Teeth can be whitened the natural way with turmeric. Take some turmeric powder, brush as normal and allow the turmeric to sit for around 5 minutes on the teeth. Rinse the mouth and then use regular toothpaste to brush again and see your teeth brighter than before. Turmeric is helpful in keeping dandruff at bay. Mix 2 tablespoons of olive oil, coconut oil and ½ a teaspoon of turmeric and apply all over the scalp. Rinse well and wash the hair with shampoo to treat and prevent dandruff.
